partnering with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham decided to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at AIMS, Kochi.
In recognition of the establishment of a state of the art Flow Cytometry facility that cater the clinical diagnostic needs for the State of Kerala and South India,

While serving as a national reference for clinical diagnostics and clinical research applications in Flow Cytometry, this joint initiative is to increase the awareness about the clinical diagnostics and clinical research applications of Flow Cytometry
Significance of this center for clinical and scientific community
- As part of this initiative, BD would partner and support AIMS in showcasing their expertise in clinical applications of Flow cytometer to the peer community
- In association with BD, AIMS will conduct Workshops/ CMEs for clinicians and hematologists on "Flowcytometry in clinical diagnostics"
- Training for the Hemato-Oncology/ Immunohematology/ Transfusion medicine/ Clinical Rheumatology fellows on basics of Flow cytometer as well as on clinical applications of Flow cytometer
- A Pathologist/Hematologist, selected by merit through open call from all over India in a year, can spend up to a month in the AIMS-BD CoE as an observer
- BD would also partner and support the center to develop novel clinical flow cytometric assays and assess the significance of existing and newer assays on patient care
