Primary Immunodeficiency Disorders (PIDs) are a group of over 300 genetic disorders caused by the
absence of a proper functioning of immune components, especially cells and proteins. PIDs are
believed to be rare disorders. But contrary to this common perception, PIDs are not uncommon and
may have a high prevalence rates of 1:1200 in the general population (Boyle & Buckely, 2007).
Nearly 70% of PIDs are underdiagnosed throughout the life time. When diagnosed on time, PIDs are treatable and many of the severe
forms are even curable. This CME focuses on improving the awareness of PIDs and its diagnosis
in general pediatricians, physicians and pathologists (Jindal A.K et al., 2017)
